After a successful first installment, but very related to the story of Sleeping Beauty, the saga Maleficent Disney returns this week with a second opus. Here is our opinion on a rather surprising footage.
In 2014, Angelina Jolie donned the forked horns and cheekbones of Maléfique, an uncomfortable magician straight out of Disney's Sleeping Beauty story. The plot of the film focusing on the great villain of the story, she knew how to take the public back, finally giving the beautiful role to the black fairy, savior of the young Aurore, incarnated with sweetness and candor by Elle Fanning . The success met by Maleficent had an effect not surprising at Disney, who decided to quickly start a suite.
Here, Aurore, catapulted queen of the forest by her godmother - Maleficent, therefore - receives a marriage proposal from Prince Philippe, which she accepts without hesitation. Nevertheless, it is nice to see that Disney has taken some risks with Maleficent: The Power of Evil.

However, Maleficent: The Power of Evil is a film that is ultimately positive and conveys values in adequacy. It is a beautiful fable, with very successful special effects, and which relies on emotion and good feelings. And sometimes, it's all you need to forget a little the darkness of the world around us.
In short, Maleficent: The Power of Evil is a film that intelligently closes the plot launched by the previous footage. He manages to forge his own identity, and plunges the viewer for nearly two hours into a magical world, without dead time. It's probably not the film of the year, but to start the fall season as it should, it's perfect.
A movie not for kids?
The projection that allowed us to discover the film was largely discouraged for children under 6 years and, from the first moments of the footage, it is easy to understand why. Darker than the first, it is also more violent, even if the film is quite suitable in what it shows on the screen: it's a Disney, after all. However, it is obvious that the very small, easily impressionable, do not really have their place in a dark room to see this feature film.
