Ubisoft & Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft has openly announced its failure to properly release Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2 and achieve the expected success. Therefore, the company decided to postpone the launch of all its upcoming games in the coming period, which negatively affected the publisher's market value which declined significantly.

The French publishing company cut its net holdings from 2.19 billion euros to 1.45 billion euros, while the share value fell by 29% as well as development revenue, which fell to 20 to 50 million euros instead of 480 million euros, according to Bloomberg report.

The main reason for postponing the release of the upcoming games and the decline in the value of stocks and revenues is the failure of Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2 games on the commercial level and the lack of expected success and therefore a decision was made to postpone all future projects.

Robert Berg, financial analyst at Bloomberg, explained that this was a very difficult decision and that the company would need some time to gain investor confidence again, but it is absolutely correct to ensure that the same mistakes are not repeated with future projects.
