A few days ago, there were reports of a patent registered by Sony in Japan for tapes or cartridges
Today this patent has been updated and Sony has added more details to it, according to a report that the information added by Sony may suggest that these tapes may be used to increase the storage capacity owned by the player on his device.
Predictions suggest that the PlayStation 5 may come up with a 1TB SSD, but as gaming volumes grow, the player will soon need more space and Sony wants to solve the problem by adopting tapes that will be sold to players separately.
Other rumors have suggested that Sony may be planning to revive the PSP with 5G support, and here some predicted that these tapes belong to the mobile device and not the PlayStation 5,
