Eidos Montreal studio helps Playground Games develop Fable

Eidos Montreal studio helps Playground Games develop Fable

He assists Microsoft with several joint development projects for Xbox exclusives.

It's been a long time since we heard new news about the Fable project that Playground Games is working on in July, and word broke about the project that the writer of Dishonored and Control had become the lead on the Fable story.

But so far we are waiting for a review of the project from Microsoft. This silence seemed to worry some, but today Jason Schreyer surprised us by publishing an interesting news, as he said that Eidos Montreal studio has deals and co-development partnerships with Microsoft on many upcoming Xbox titles from the first party, one of which is with Playground Games to help develop the upcoming Fable project. This isn't something that has been officially confirmed by any of the parties involved, although given the initiative's partnership with Crystal Dynamics to help develop Perfect Dark, it wouldn't be entirely surprising.

So it seems that Microsoft has found its way in Square Enix Western Studios to help Xbox studios develop the first-party exclusive projects that gamers have been waiting for, so much so that Spencer admitted this a few days ago when he said, "It's been a long time since Xbox got a huge first-party exclusivity." At the same time, he stressed that the year 2023 will be more noisy and full of publications.

Recently we heard a rumor saying that rumor: 9 Xbox exclusives will be released in 2023, most notably Hellblade 2 and Fable. The Playground Games team has stated that it is working on Fable with the same "craftsmanship and dedication" as Forza Horizon.
